Migraine & Headache Companion
Last updated 23 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the Migraine & Headache Companion app. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
This app does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice, and using it does not create a clinician–patient relationship.
It is a diary and a patient-education tool. It records what you enter and shows you patterns in your own data. Every clinical decision remains between you and a qualified healthcare professional who has examined you.
The app screens what you log against well-known headache warning signs (the "SNOOP10" features taught in neurology) and may prompt you to seek care. These prompts:
A quiet screen is never reassurance. If you feel unwell, seek care regardless of what the app shows.
Where the app compares your logs against published headache classification criteria (ICHD-3), it is matching patterns in your own records. It is not making a diagnosis. Diagnosis requires a clinician, a full history, an examination, and the exclusion of secondary causes. Do not present the app's output as a diagnosis, and do not start, stop or change any medication on the basis of it.
If you have a sudden worst-ever headache, weakness, difficulty speaking, vision loss, confusion, seizure, or a stiff neck with fever — contact your local emergency services immediately. Do not stop to log it, and do not wait for the app to tell you anything.
The app's emergency shortcuts are a convenience. They may fail. Never rely on them as your only means of getting help.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Migraine & Headache Companion. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use it with a parent or guardian's involvement.
Your health information stays on your device, and in your own private iCloud if you enable sync. We operate no server and cannot access it. This is described in full in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Because we hold no copy of your data, we cannot recover it for you if you lose your device or delete the app without an export.
With Weather & air quality enabled, the app retrieves conditions from Apple Weather and from Open-Meteo. Weather and air quality data is provided by those services, may be inaccurate or unavailable, and is offered without warranty. Air quality and pollen data is provided by Open-Meteo under the Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 licence.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation. We do not warrant that the app is free of errors, that reminders will be delivered, or that any calculation, chart or report it produces is correct or clinically meaningful.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app — including any decision made or delayed on the basis of anything the app displayed or failed to display.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
These terms may be updated. Material changes will appear here with a new "last updated" date and will be noted in the App Store release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
